UNBOXING The world's CRAZIEST Isuzu 2.4m/8 foot wide. 38" tires, long travel suspension. First Look!
Today we had the pleasure of attending the unveiling of Isuzu's new concept vehicles at the National 4x4 Outdoors Show in Melbourne, Australia. When we were originally told that they were intended to rival the Ford Raptor, Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan we had to see it for ourselves.
The aggressive looks of these cars are attributed to its beautiful body styling. While keeping a similar feel to the production models in terms of body shape and length, they completely change it up when it comes to the suspension, guards, and front end styling.
These absolute animals pack a four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that makes 130kW and 430Nm. While a similar set up to what is offered in the everyday version of the D-MAX and MU-X it is also equipped with a new and throaty exhaust system. It sounds as tough as it looks.
The D-MAX's rear end is something to behold, if we get anything close to this in the production version we're in for a treat! Sporting a custom design rear tray (similar is size and styling to that of competition sport trucks) the D-MAX is host to 4 Jerry Cans and two more of the cars behemoth tyres. (Probably enough rubber for 2 normal D-MAX's!)
When asked about the cars and their design, Wayne Boatwright, head of the Isuzu Team D-Max stunt crew had a lot to say. Clearly passionate about them, he explains that while they could have just bolted every accessory known to man on a production model, they wanted to 'go their own way' as the slogan their slogan says and do something they hadn't tried before.
It'd be an understatement to say we really want one of these in our line up. The Australian market is quite scarce anything anywhere near the size and quality of these two vehicles so it is very cool to see Isuzu unveiling something like this here! We look forward to seeing what they have planned for the D-MAX and MU-X next.
A massive thank you to the team at Isuzu for letting us be a part of this special event!
Of course we couldn't stop there. We took in one step further, we had to have a go in one of their stunt cars to see what they were all about, the results were pretty mental! Check it out on our Facebook page below as we streamed it live from the car!
If you missed our original live stream you can also check out the unveiling of the MU-X and D-MAX right here.
What about you? What do you think of Isuzu's new concept?
